Nordic look

What's up ladies! Hope everything is ok :-D Today I had a very relaxing day off from work...I went to the hairdresser, thing that I actually hate unlike most of the girls. Unfortunately my hair were screaming in despair and desperate was the guy as well when he started to cut it (I swear I'm not exaggerating...I wish)...commenting on how bad the state of my ends was. Ayway...thanks God the torture lasted less than an hour and I could spent the rest of the day chilling with Jesús before heading to class.

The outfit of today has been named "the nordic look", because more than 3 years ago when I was studying in Sweden during my Erasmus, most of the girls where dressing this way: giant hoodie (the one I'm wearing it is not mine but my boyfriend's), leggings and leather jacket. I just fell in love with it. It's super practical and comfortable.  Do you agree with me?? Let me know!

Ciao ragazze! Come state? Oggi non dovevo lavorare quindi ho trascorso una giornata super rilassante. Mi è toccato solo andare dal parrucchiere, cosa che odio a differenza di molte ragazze. I miei poveri capelli imploravano pietà e anche il parrucchiere effettivamente nutriva pena per me dato che non la smetteva piú di dire quanto fossero messe male le mie punte (giuro che non esagero...mi piacerebbe!). Grazie al cielo la tortura é durata meno di un'ora e prima di andare a lezione ho avuto tempo per rilassarmi un pó con Jesús e fare qualche foto.

Questo outfit l'ho chiamato look nordico in quanto poco più di tre anni fa durante il mio Erasmus in Svezia mi colpì moltissimo lo stile delle ragazze, che spesso vedevo vestite con felpa gigante (quella che indosso non è mia ma del mio ragazzo), leggings e giacca di pelle. A me piace tantissimo, lo trovo praticissimo e super comodo. Siete d'accordo con me?? Fatemi sapere cosa ne pensate! Un bacione ♥

Alexander Wang for Balenciaga

Hello beauties! Another week has just started and here we go with a new post I hope you will enjoy!

When I first heard last November that Alexander Wang was about to be nominated new creative director of Balenciaga my first thought was.."Wow..how come..he's so young (29 years-old)...and alternative!". Wang is definetely one of my favourite designer but to be honest I couldn't really think of him associated with a huge brand like Balenciaga. I thought the style of this two brands were so different that I couldn't wait to see his new collection for the french maison. 

Before him another young man, Nicolas Ghesquiere's lead the brand as creative director from 1997 till late 2012 and his contribute was huge. 

I thought it would be nice to see the difference between the two catwalks and see what changes Wang has brought to the brand. I read a few articles about how the young 
designer studied all the Balenciaga's archives to prepare his debut and I loved these words about him by the CEO of Balenciaga, Isabelle Guichot:

'"Immediately,' he said: 'I want to see the archives. I want to understand the culture behind the brand,'" said Isabelle Guichot, Balenciaga CEO, of the designer's creative process. "He could have slept there almost.""We wanted someone with global thinking, a citizen of the world, and someone who could understand the digital world and the direction of fashion and retail tomorrow,". "It will be a new vision; a new understanding of the brand. The heritage of Balenciaga is so big. Just a part of it has been exploited, but obviously not all of it." (quote from www.vogue.co.uk)

Ciao ragazze! Un'altra settimana è appena cominciata e con lei ecco un nuovo post che spero vi piacerà! 

Quando ho sentito per la prima volta lo scorso novembre che Alexander Wang stava per essere nominato nuovo direttore creativo di Balenciaga  il mio primo pensiero è stato: "ma com'è possibile...è giovanissimo (29 anni)...e super alternativo". Wang rientra sicuramente tra i miei stilisti preferiti però non riuscivo a capire come due stili abbastanza differenti come quello di Wang e Balenciaga potessero conciliare, quindi non vedevo l'ora di vedere la sua nuova collezione per la maison francese.

Prima di lui un altro giovanotto, Nicolas Ghesquiere's  fu a capo della firma dal 1997 e il suo contributo per Balenciaga fu senza dubbio enorme. 

Ho pensato che sarebbe stato interessante vedere le differenze tra le due sfilate e quali sono i cambiamenti che ha apportato Wang. Ho letto qualche articolo su come il giovane stilista si è studiato gli archivi di Balenciaga per prepararsi al meglio per il suo debutto e mi sono piaciute molto queste parole del direttore generale del marchio, Isabelle Guichot:

"Subito" ha detto Wang: " Voglio vedere gli archivi. Voglio capire la cultura che c'è dietro il marchio" spiega il direttore generale Isabelle Guichot. "Ormai ci dormiva in mezzo agli archivi!". "Volevamo qualcuno che possedesse un pensiero globale, un cittadino del mondo, qualcuno che intendesse il mondo digitale e in che direzione sarebbe andata la moda e il mercato un domani". "Sarà una nuova visione, un nuovo modo di intendere il marchio". "Il potenziale di Balenciaga è immenso. Solo una parte di esso è stato sfruttato, ma ne rimane ancora moltissimo". (Commento da www.vogue.co.uk)

Cosa ne pensate? Io devo ammettere di essere impressionata dal lavoro di Alexander. Mi piace moltissimo. Sicuramente è riuscito a mantenere i valori del marchio aggiungendo tuttavia il suo particolarissimo tocco grunge. Per me è favoloso. Fatemi sapere le vostre opinioni!! Io sono appena tornata a casa dopo aver provato i migliori (nonchè primi ad essere sincera!) pancakes che abbia mai mangiato! Deliziosi! Olivia's Style!

Hello everyone! How are you these days? Here we go another quick entry about one on my favourite IT girl: Olivia Palermo. Among all the It girls she's my favourite at the moment. She has the incredible ability to make the simplest outfit look great. In my opinion she's divine, above all when she wears casual and sporty outfits, absolutely my favourites as you can see from my previous posts =)

Ciao a tutti ragazzi! Come state? Ecco qui un'altra veloce entrata riguardo una delle mie It girl preferite: Olivia Palermo. Tra tutte sicuramente lei è la mia preferita al momento. Ha l'incredibile capacità di rendere fantastico il più semplice degli outfit. La trovo fantastica e mi piace soprattutto quando si veste casual e sportiva, sicuramente i miei look preferiti da come avrete capito dai miei ultimi post =)
